Meila was beaming a bloody smile yesterday as she pranced around with her first lost tooth. She thought it was pretty remarkable that she would lose that first tooth, on the night of her first 'spend the night'... Rachel was over for a sleep over; her first, and Meila's first. Also a bit of a going away celebration- there have been a few of those for each of the kids the last week or two. Rachel reported that she had already lost 'about 7' teeth, and she's the same age as Mei. It was sad for Meila to watch kids losing teeth left and right for the last 2 years at school when hers weren't even a little loose- this loss was a BIG deal around this house. You might also notice it's one of the first big events on the bus. AT least the photo is on the bus.

Simon is pretty sure he wants to be an elf when he grows up. Sometimes, he'll walk around for a while holding the tip of his ear up, in order to 'help it get pointy'. This week we rigged up a deal that taped the tips of both of his ears together over the top of his head, in hopes that when he woke up they would be a little pointier. Well, that wasn't enough. Simon did wake up, and refused to let us take off the tape until after lunch. Sure enough, they are a little pointier. Simon also has a penchant for Christmas music.
